The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them.
-P. G. Wodehouse

However i shall ignore my own advice and offer a quick apology.  If you have sent me a message, posted a comment on one of my pics, or messaged me i a journal and i haven't replied i am very sorry to have lapsed in my manners and not got back to you.  My grandfather, who was the family bastion of all that was right & proper, would be turning in his grave to know i neglected such a important duty.

In my defense i can only plead that mitigating cicumstances have lead to my downfall.  I recently, against my better judgement took a new job working full time with a demolition company in Melbourne.  Now i find myself working 6-7 days a week and when i'm not working im sleeping.  I dont think i have ever felt so tired and defeated.   But despite that i am working towards finally building up some savings while still paying for medical insurance and income protection (which i have alway mena t to before) and all the day to day costs of living in this helter skelter world or ours.

Even though my work life is increasingly demanding i have managed to get in a few hours sketching each week.  However most of it never gets posted.  I will try to post more in the future as i get some free time... If i ever get any free time.... I have recently found myself wistfully thinking back to my younger days when i would have nothing to do and go for a stroll, have a coffee, or kill time smoking a cigarette.

I am still set on fullfilling my commitments to :icontheprovinggrounds: and :icondeviantuniverse: even though both are epically late.  I'm especially sorry to :iconlevonn78: and :iconbug-off: who have been great supporters of me on dA and who i made promises to provide peices for and have failed to do so.  I hope to set these matters straight as soon as i can.

Presently, I'm still drafting pages for Issue 1 of :icontheprovinggrounds: alongside :iconbug-off: & :icongrantpadams:.    By the way i've run across a few webcomics which are great if you guys/girls/gelatinous-blobs are looking for sources of steampunk inspiration.

...are generally the most busy people in the world.

Hiya guys and gals, long time no speak... or post.... whatever.   Anyways i'm just jotting down this post to let you all know whats going down.  Lately I've been hard at work drafting pages for :iconbug-off:'s wonderful project :icontheprovinggrounds:.

Working besides :iconbug-off: & :icongrantpadams: to create Issue 1 has been a real thrill.  I would strongly recommend anyone with a interest in creating comics try working collaboratively with others because it really affects the way you work.  Bug's a legend at writting and Rott has a enviable talent for character design and story-telling through his comics.  At this stage I'm just focusing on not being the one to drop the ball.  In a effort to try & pull my weight, I have been putting my hand up to do lot of design work.  So expect to see some designs for more peoples of the Floating Islands soon.

Some of you might have noticed that of late I have not been posting as much as i usually do.  Part of this is because i've been focusing on working on my pages for the comic (which are turning out to be some of the most challenging, yet rewarding, work ive ever done).  However I've also got myself a couple of weeks of work which necessiates me working out of my parents home to try and cut down on the re-DONK-ulous amount of travel time.  Never fear non-existent readers, I shall post a but load of pics next week, including:
* A smattering of dA Universe fanart.
* Some pics of White Jack that never made it into the strip i was going to enter into :iconmja42x:'s competition.
* A collection of uniforms designed for the armed forces of the mighty Eurovean Empire of :icontheprovinggrounds:.
* A finalised cover for Issue 1 of :icontheprovinggrounds:.
* A series of sketch pad pages featuring the drunken scrawlings of myself and assorted friends taking part in my very informal version of Drink & Draw in melbourne (more like Drinking, Drawing & Disorderly).
* Some formal canvas peices in finished in a effort to produce something to go up in Gallery Exibition (hopefully to garner me some cash, kudos, or attention of pretty women with loose morals)

Tagged!!!

5 min read
I have been tagged by :iconlevonn78:

1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 5 people and post their icons on the same journal.
4. Go to their pages and send a message saying you tagged them.
5. No tag-backs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

1).  After a long and checkered career as a academic, i ended up working as a high school teacher.  The experience did not end well.  In fact i did such a bad job that when people even mention my days teaching or their own experiences in the profession i suffer from nights of insominia.   Fortunately, drawing/booze/partying with mates seems to snap me back into shape pretty smartly.

2). Although I'm originally from Auckland in New Zealand, I was fortunate enough to spend six years of my life growing up in Papua New Guinea.  Not many western kids get to grow up driving around in speed boats to go to BBQ's on remote islands or go play in the Jungle behind their house.

3). I'm 30, and while i'm not over the hill yet, i can see the crest of the hill from where I'm standing.

4). When I was 18 crashed a mophed (scooter) and had to have a knee reconstruction... However, i tell my work mates (on the construction sites) that i crashed a motorbike, because crashing a mophed seems a little sissy.

5). I started drawing about 2 years ago.  Before then i had never had any interest in art.  I took it up because i got given a art class to teach and i felt like a shmuck teaching a class knowing nothing about the subject.  After that i was hooked.

6). I live in a flat in Melbourne Australia with my older brother who is both my best friend and my nemesis!  He drives me absolutely spare with a thousand little annoying habits but i love him almost like a brother..... so i geuss he can stay.

7). I'm working towards starting my own comic publishing company.... Which i know is an ambitious dream, but i figure there is little value in setting small goals.  In the short term i'm just hoping to get my art to the level where is could get some form of job connected to it.

8). I hate all western soups, yet i have an unhealthy addiction to any form of delicious asian noodle soup.

9).  As a kid i was in deep smit with comics.  I loved em.  My favourites were: spiderman, the incredible hulk, and the amazing X-men (later i would find out that the amazing Stan Lee wrote all this series).  I dug all these character because they all had their own problems to deal with as people and while the were heroes they were not seen as such by society.  Then during my senior years at high school I lost interest in comics and became obessessed with women... Which in hindsight, never really paid off.  After i took up art recently, i figured looking at comics would be a good way to learn how to draw them better.  So i't only recently i've come back to reading comics again.   While i still have a soft spot for the characters i used to read about, I mainly read owner published content of the net (Atland www.realmofatland.com , Vigil crankyoctopus.com/vigil , Fey Winds www.feywinds.com/ , Looking for Group www.lfgcomic.com/ , Shadow Girls www.shadowgirlscomic.com/ , The Zombie Hunters www.thezombiehunters.com/ , Flaky Pastry flakypastry.runningwithpencils… , & The Path www.wevolt.com/The_Path/ ) now and a few selected titles that are out of the printed for the mainstream (Empowered, Atomic Robo, American Vampire, Powers, & Wolfman).

10). Finally my terible secret, brace yourself dear readers!   I, Bonezy T Bone-ing-ton the 3rd, used to play Dungeon and Dragons.  Deep was my addiction to this most viraluent of pastimes.  I was happy to forgo going out and grabbing drinks with people.  Ladies waiting to meet me?... Well they can be buggered, because my 18th level Theif is trapped in a dungeon supended above a cauldron of boiling acid!  Anyway, after years rehabilitation i am now able to live a relatively normal life filled with walks in sun filled parks, bracing bike rides, and alcohol fuelled bouts of socialisation at pubs across melbourne.   However, despite all this work at the the very bottom of my cupboard there rest of small velvet bag tied up with string.  Stored within, rest the last remaining paraphanaelia of my former lifetstyle choice..............  Sometimes when everyone is a asleep, i get them out and try to roll for double damage.

Now those to Be Tagged

Shesh, with a title like that i feel kind of guilty i have nothing important to talk about.  Anyways, i'm still working on the the Fan Fiction comic inspired by Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards" & and have amassed quite a bit of concept skecthes and character designs which i am itching to post.... However, i promised myself i wouldn't post anything untill i had the first issue completed.

In the mean time. i've been furiously working on various projects peices connected with :iconbug-off:'s fatantisical poject Proving Grounds theprovinggrounds.deviantart.c… (which i would encourage everone to have a look at and join in with) and :iconmja42x:'s Deviant Universe (which i have swamped with numerous character designs).  So here's the list of upcoming posts to expect from me in the not to distant future:
* A full figure of :iconclockwerksoul:'s character Firefly
* I've been tagged by :iconbranded-curse: and thus must submit a illustrated fact sheet featuring 8 unknown facts about my character Badmoon drunkenoracle.deviantart.com/a….
* A four page comic featuring White Jack drunkenoracle.deviantart.com/a… versus Agent 42X fav.me/d34w03i for :iconmja42x:'s April challenge over at the Deviant Universe
* I'm hopefully goin to be working on a collaberation with :iconbug-off: in which 3 artists will contribute one story each to a comic set in the Proving Grounds

In non-art news, work is finally starting to pic up and hopefully soon i will have a full time job again.  Either that, or i will win lotto and be able to retire @ the ripe old age of 30 and live the life of Drunken Riley (just living the dream!).
